Natural versus Chemical (Synthetic) Fertilizers
Natural fertilizers differ from chemical fertilizers in that they feed your plants while adding organic matter to the soil whereas chemical fertilizers feed the plant directly.
Many people might have used chemical fertilizer because they are cheap to buy, easy to use, and works well in the field. However most chemical fertilizers are made from non-renewable resources such as coal or natural gas. What's more, they pollute ground water -- the very water we drink -- and make our food less healthy, especially for children who are most affected by chemical residues.
Now, here is something that the chemical fertilizer companies NEVER advertise.
For example, when you go to the store to purchase a 50 lb. bag of 13,13,13 fertilizer, here is what the contents of the bag contain.
In a 50 pound bag there is
1. 6 ½ pounds of N,
2. 6 ½ pounds of P (up to 47% chlorine and 23% salt),
3. 6 ½ pounds of K, and
4. 30 ½ pounds of inert material.
You are reading this correctly…. In a 50 pound bag of synthetic fertilizer you are purchasing 30 ½ pounds of sand, stone and other inert materials!!!!
When you purchase a 55-pound bag of NATURE'S WAY Natural fertilizer, the bag will contain 55 pounds of plant and soil nutrients, essential minerals, and other elements, which enhance soil productivity and nourish soil micro-organisms.
The instructions on chemical fertilizers state that you should NEVER apply more product than is recommended or you can burn your lawn and garden. How many times have this occurred to customers.
